Studio CCS Architecture completed the design and style and improvement of Madrona Private Home, a summer retreat in Seattle for a couple who wanted to get away from foggy San Francisco. Situated on a steep slope and a narrow lot, this 4000 square foot residence is spread over 3 floors, with the master, guest and little ones bedroom on the ground floor, and living spaces on the upper floor to take benefit of the spectacular views of Lake Washington and the city skyline beyond. Additionally, the basement level consists of storage, mechanical facilities and a two vehicle garage.
One of the defining traits for the project is its overwhelming feeling of space. The social core of the residence is an open strategy living, kitchen and dining interior, with an imposing partition wall cleverly dividing functional areas. A generously-sized terrace links it to the magnificent views- and what a ideal spot for contemplation this is! How would you personally comment on the overall design and style of this residence?
